On May 28th at 12.00 public hearings were held in the school of Nikolayevka village (Burabay region, Akmolinskaya oblast). The hearings took the form of an open meeting called to discuss the section entitled “Assessment of Environmental Impact from the operation of the 8 M m3 Raygorodok Tailings Storage Facility”
The hearings sought to inform the public about the planned operations of a tailings facility and solicit public feedback about its future growth.
During the meeting representatives from RG Gold LLP and the design firm Proekttehstroy LLP provided answers to all raised questions including
the project itself, the benefits project offers to the community and improvement of infrastructure.
The hearings were attended by more than 20 people, including O.Aitbayev, Akim of Uspeno-Yuryevskiy rural district, A.Amrin, State inspector of environmental department for Akmolinskaya oblast of the Committee of environmental regulation and monitoring of the Ministry of ecology, geology and natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and A.Kanatuly, acting Chief specialist of the Department of environmental regulation and natural resources management of Akmolinskaya oblast.
The event concluded with the signing of Protocol.
