On September 11, 2020 at 15.00 public hearings were held in the school of Nikolayevka village (Burabay region, Akmolinskaya oblast). The hearings took the form of an open meeting called to discuss the section entitled “Environmental Impact Assessment (stage 2) for the Subsoil Mineral Area Use Project for deployment and utilization of a storage facility for industrial mineral substances formed as a result of mining and processing production process (tailings storage facility of the North and South Raygorodok Primary Ore Processing Plant).
The purpose of the hearings was to provide local community with information on the impact of the proposed tailings storage facility designed to store the hydraulically pumped tails of the CIP Plant on the environment and to get feedback regarding the prospective development of the plant.
During the event, RG Gold representatives jointly with ALAIT LLP designers provided answers to all questions asked by the audience, including those regarding the project itself, social development, and improvement of the infrastructure.
Apart from the interested community members, the hearing was attended by the akim of the Uspeno-Yurievsk rural district Mr O. Aitbayev, the state inspector of the Akmola Region Environmental Department of the Environment Control and Regulation Committee of the RoK Environment, Geology, and Natural Resources Ministry Mr A. Amrin and the Head of the Akmola Region State Authirity for Natural Resources Use Regualtion Ms A. Kusmanova.
At the close of the meeting, Protocol document was produced and signed.
